The Bigg Boss 19 house experienced turmoil and mayhem with a new twist when Gaurav Khanna’s captaincy, which he had just received, lasted less than one hour. What began as a celebratory occasion quickly turned into one of the most chaotic episodes of the season.
After receiving his captaincy, Gaurav was called into the App Room and given a hard decision by Bigg Boss. He could keep his captaincy, and the house would only get 30% rations, with everyone nominated, or he could give the captaincy to Shehbaz Badesha, and the entire house would get their rations and not be nominated.
Gaurav chose to keep his captaincy, which started to make the housemates very angry. Many were upset and felt they were betrayed, calling his choice selfish and unfair. The situation worsened when Bigg Boss requested Gaurav’s private conversation to be broadcasted for the housemates to hear so everyone could see his rationale, raising the intensity of the housemates’ anger.
The contestants directly challenged Bigg Boss and stated that they believed the decision to be unfair. With tension building and more housemates speaking to Gaurav, the atmosphere became fairly negative. Bigg Boss had no choice but to step in and hold an assembly voting task to establish who was truly deserving of being captain.
The group of housemates voted mostly in favor of Shehbaz Badesha as captain, which led to Gaurav losing his cabinship. In a few minutes, the power dynamics in the house had completely changed, leaving Gaurav both shocked and alone.
Nonetheless, Bigg Boss clarified that the ramifications of Gaurav’s earlier decision would not be changed. Only 30% of the groceries would remain in the house, and all housemates, including Gaurav, would remain nominated. Gaurav’s moment of success quickly devolved into the loss of his captaincy and being able to gain the trust of many of the housemates, leading to even greater drama.
