However, on Wednesday, the public transport in Delhi faced an obstruction since the strike was being carried out by the DTC bus drivers, and it has affected bus services from several locations in the national capital city of Delhi. 

A number of buses were observed to be parked in depots and roadside because the workers did not turn up for their duty due to protests.

It has been observed that there has been an effect on the bus services from different DTC depots like Burari, Dilshad Garden, Keshavpur, and Greater Kailash. It is clear that the people who rely on DTC buses to travel to different places like their office and schools are finding it hard due to this problem.

The bus drivers, through this protest, have raised issues concerning the improvement of their working conditions, which include the issues of salary hike and health care facilities.

This is happening in light of the fact that DTC continues to remain a crucial part of Delhi’s public transportation system. Any disruption in the bus service is sure to have an impact on commuters who take buses for last mile connectivity or those who do not have Metro routes available to them.

In addition to having to wait for longer periods of time, commuters may have to consider other modes of transportation due to this disruption. The disruption may increase the burden on other modes of public transport as well as commuters seek other modes of transport.

Whether the strike continues further or not and whether normal bus services are resumed or not depends upon the discussions held between the employees and the authorities.
