Also, it affects our hearts too. It causes heart attacks more these days, even a child is suffering from a severe heart condition. The hospitals are building more these days, and the doctors are in fewer rooms, and beds are very scarce. India saw a nearly 50% increase in heart attack cases, highlighting the growing need for awareness and preventive care.
Rapid urbanisation, evolving lifestyles, poor dietary habits, sedentary routines, and the rising incidence of conditions such as diabetes and obesity are major forces fuelling this increase. The impact of heart disease extends far beyond a health concern; it also undermines economic productivity, strains healthcare systems, and diminishes the overall quality of life for families affected by these conditions.
The heart attacks are like this. This blockage deprives the heart tissue of oxygen, causing cells to die, which can lead to permanent heart damage or death if not treated promptly. Dr. Sudhir Kumar, a physician trained at CMC Vellore and currently practising at Apollo Hospitals, notes that nearly 99% of heart attacks, strokes, and heart failures arise from underlying risk factors that often go undetected and untreated.
All the problems are of health-related diseases. Most individuals who suffer their first heart attack already have one or more hidden health issues. So, many health centres are made by the government for the people, and it is cleaning and keep patinate in a clean environment are the responsibility of the government. Like this Stress management: Chronic stress contributes to hypertension and unhealthy habits that harm the heart.
Preventing such conditions depends largely on identifying risk factors at an early stage. A significant number of heart attacks and strokes could be averted if individuals regularly monitored their health. Routine check-ups enable doctors to detect underlying concerns in time and advise timely interventions before they worsen. Dr Kumar cautions that many people delay seeking care until symptoms become severe, a dangerous approach, as heart attacks and strokes can strike suddenly and lead to grave consequences.
