IIT Delhi has formed a committee to probe into the suicide of one of the MSc students amidst the ongoing protests against the institute. It comes after several student demands for an independent probe into the situation, which led to the death of the MSc student.
The protest was on its fourth day, and students were raising concerns about the manner in which the case has been handled, as well as asking for accountability from the institute. According to sources, demonstrators are demanding a detailed inquiry of the incidents that took place before the student died and also assuring that the students who are having academic, personal, or psychological difficulties are provided with proper help.
Following the ongoing protests, IIT Delhi decided to form a new committee to investigate the matter. The reformed committee will look into the details of the matter and address the issues raised by the students.
