India had a wonderful beginning to Day 11 of the Asian Games of 2026 at Aichi-Nagoya after shooter Neeru Dhanda made history in winning the gold medal in the women’s individual trap competition. Her win was historic since it brought India’s first individual gold of the Games.

Her performance in the final was great, making her emerge triumphant on the podium. In addition, she won India the silver medal in the women’s trap team competition together with Manisha Keer and Aashima Ahlawat.

With her individual gold, India’s gold medal total went up to five medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. It was another achievement to add to the list of successes in India’s quest for medals at the Games.

The focus then shifted to the boxing ring where Ankush Panghal was one of the Indian boxers who were fighting their way into the finals. He had already made it into the semifinals of the men’s 80kg class by winning his quarterfinal bout against Nekruz Salimov of Tajikistan.

Panghal was supposed to fight in his semifinals match on Day 11 for a spot in the gold-medal game. Indian boxers Parveen and Narender would also take part in their semifinals matches. India had several chances to get into the finals.

As India had two medals coming from shooting and boxing, Day 11 was set to be an exciting day with lots of events including athletics, cycling, surfing, among others. With Neeru Dhanda winning the historic gold medal, Day 11 was anticipated to be very exciting for the Indian athletes.
