In Dwarka, it was a tense morning, with Delhi Public School (DPS), Modern Convent School, and Shree Ram World School having received an email bomb threat. With the degree of seriousness and urgency, schools had exited procedures to evacuate students and staff to nearby streets and parking areas.
Many exited the various entrances to the school accordingly, as parents were at the gates, anxious to find their children.
One mother waiting outside DPS said, “My child was inside. The moment I heard about the bomb threat, I just wanted to hold him in my arms.”
Soon, police teams, bomb squads, and fire officials arrived. They sealed the areas and began detailed searches. A Delhi Police officer reassured everyone, saying: “All children and staff are safe. We are checking every part of the buildings.”
Growing Pattern of Threats in Delhi Schools
This isn’t the first time. Over the past few months, several schools in Delhi have faced similar bomb threat emails.During July, over 50 schools had to evacuate due to threats in a morning. The investigation later revealed that one of those threats, was a prank email sent from a 12-year-old boy.
Even though all of the previous threats are hoaxes, the alerts are causing concerns about safety from the parents and teachers.
Parents Call for Stronger Security
Parents say every new threat shakes their trust. “Even if it’s a hoax, children go through stress, and so do we,” said a father outside ShreeRam World School.
Former Delhi CM Atishi also slammed the authorities, asking why children’s safety is not being handled more seriously.
Are Schools Still Safe?
While the police teams continue their search, parents are asking one big question: Are schools safe anymore?
For now, all children are safe, and the latest bomb threat at Delhi Public School and other schools seems under control. But the repeated incidents show that stronger action is needed to protect kids and bring peace of mind to families.
