Soaring Prices of Gold and Silver on MCX on Tuesday September 8, 2026, Due to Fall in Value of Dollar and Favorable US Inflation Reports. Soaring prices of gold and silver brought investors back into notice towards the bullion markets on Tuesday September 8, 2026.
Gold for October delivery gained Rs 1,174, or 0.77% compared to previous closing price and was available for quotation at Rs 1,53,992 per 10 grams at 9:54 AM. The Gold Futures started in bullish mood and oscillated between Rs 1,53,361 and Rs 1,54,125 per 10 grams. The reason behind the increase in price of Gold can be attributed to investors’ shifting focus towards economic indicators and future direction of US monetary policies.
Similarly, Silver futures also experienced increase in price. December Delivery of Silver futures gained Rs 2,475, or 1.04% and was available for quotation at Rs 2,41,491 per kg. Silver futures started in bullish mood and oscillated between Rs 2,40,009 and Rs 2,41,724 per kg.
The lower value of the US dollar is providing a boost to the price of gold and silver, where any weakness in the dollar may increase the demand for dollar-priced goods. Participants in the market are also waiting for the US inflation numbers that will help in signaling the future direction of interest rate moves by the Federal Reserve.
High price levels in gold and silver will ensure that investors keep their focus on bullion amid global inflation, interest rate, and currency moves. Nonetheless, bullion will continue to face volatility based on the economic releases and investor sentiments.
As the US inflation number arrives this week, the traders will be watching out for the cues from the global markets. In the meantime, gold and silver are still higher on MCX in a positive start to Tuesday’s trading session.
