Current market reports have highlighted that fluctuations in expectations regarding US monetary policy have affected the precious metals market.
The distinctions among the three popular purities are critical to know for buyers. The 24-carat gold is the one with the highest purity and is commonly used in investment purposes while the 22-carat gold is usually preferred for jewellery due to its durability. The 18-carat gold has more percentage of other metals and is often used in jewellery with complicated designs.
It is to be noted that the gold rates, which are popularly quoted, do not give an idea of the final jewellery bill as making charges, GST and other costs make the bill payable higher. Therefore, buyers must make sure about the purity of gold, hallmark and per gram rate of gold before buying any item of jewellery.
