From A Single Baby Balm To A Full Range
Back in 2021, when we founded CITTA, we had a simple yet ambitious dream, to create safe, natural, and effective baby products. But clarity of vision didn’t mean clarity of the path.
Our journey began with the Moisturizing Baby Balm, a product that blended dadi-nani ke nuskhe with modern science. We poured our hearts into formulating the perfect blend, carefully selecting ingredients free from sulphates, parabens, and anything on our internal no-no list. But there was one major challenge – the pricing.
No matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t bring the cost down without compromising quality. And compromising quality was never an option.
I vividly remember the moment my mom, my brother, and I looked at each other and decided, we believed in this product far too much to shelve it. Even if it meant launching at a higher price for an unknown brand, we had to take the leap. And what happened next was nothing short of extraordinary.
Through sheer word-of-mouth, parents turned our Moisturizing Baby Balm into a bestseller. What started with uncertainty grew into trust, eventually becoming the choice of over 150,000 families. It reinforced one of our biggest learnings, not everything in life can be planned, but sometimes, the toughest decisions lead to the most rewarding outcomes.
The Next Big Leap
Fast forward to last year, we found ourselves taking another bold step, launching our Protection Range. A completely new category, this time focusing on baby skin protection. And as always, the process was filled with endless discussions, late-night debates, and sleepless nights.
In October, we finally introduced our first product from the range, the CITTA Protecting Sunscreen SPF 70 PA++++. India’s first-ever baby sunscreen infused with humus extract, thoughtfully formulated to stimulate the skin’s natural immunity.
The inspiration? Deeply rooted in Indian tradition, the joy of children playing in the mud, an age-old practice known for strengthening immunity. And the response? Over 1,000 units sold online in such a short time, proving once again that parents value quality above all else.
The Road Ahead
We know this is just the beginning. The path ahead is filled with challenges, but we embrace them with unwavering faith in our mission.
Every day, we reflect on how far we’ve come, from nearly shelving our first product to becoming a trusted name in baby care. We remain fiercely ambitious, holding onto infinite self-belief and a relentless hunger to grow.
CITTA is a promise, a promise to make a difference and continue creating safe, conscious, and effective skincare products.
Building on this promise, we have now expanded our journey into skincare for adults with 20+ products across skincare, body care, and hair care. This step marks another milestone in our vision to provide high-quality, thoughtful formulations for the entire family.
And so, we move forward. Thoughtfully. Intentionally. Passionately.
