Actor Huma Qureshi’s Cousin Asif Qureshi Stabbed to Death in Delhi Over Parking Dispute

Shocking CCTV footage reveals the fatal attack; Wife seen trying to intervene as accused return with weapon

In a deeply unfortunate incident in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi, Asif Qureshi, the cousin of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, was killed on Thursday night after a dispute over parking. The terrible assault, partially captured on CCTV footage, shows the victim’s wife intervening against the physical assault. 

The argument took place at around 10 pm when Asif asked the two boys from the neighbourhood not to block the entrance to his house with their scooter. One simple request turned into a violent confrontation. After a short period of time, the boys left- however they later returned with a weapon.

“My husband asked them to move the scooter. In response, they abused him and said they would be back. A few minutes later, they returned and stabbed him,” remembered Shaheen Asif Qureshi, his wife, who observed the attack.

She was calling for help as when Asif’s brother arrived, he was already badly injured. Asif was taken to the National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Shaheen commented incredulously, “We were told by the physicians that he passed away almost an hour before we arrived to the hospital.” Family members claimed the suspect had threatened Asif in the past. “I can feel only grief and anger,” said Saleem Qureshi, the father of actress Huma Qureshi and uncle of the deceased.

“They parked their scooter in front of the house. Asif simply asked them to move it to keep the entrance clear. That’s all it took for them to kill him,” Saleem said.

The two accused, identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18), have been arrested by the police. The murder weapon has been recovered, and an FIR has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to murder.
