PM Modi, in his first set of decisions from his new office inside the Seva Teerth complex, took four key decisions related to the welfare of farmers, women, youth, and the vulnerable. In his initial policy decisions from the new office, the Prime Minister cleared the launch of the RAHAT scheme, raised the Lakhpat Didi’s target twofold, and enhanced funding for the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund. The seventeenth complex, the scheme which will provide cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh to accident victims. The scheme is meant to ensure that no life is lost due to a lack of immediate medical help or financial constraints. The government already crossed the target of 3 crore Lakhpat Didi more than a year ahead of the original March 2027 timeline. The Lakhpati Didi initiative is to empower and enable women in self-help Groups (SHGs) to earn a minimum income of Rs 1 lakh per year.
Lakhpati Didi’s are no longer limited to traditional domestic activities. They are not only engaged in agriculture and allied sectors, but also in horticulture, dairy, and animal husbandry.
