India vs New Zealand, T20 World Cup 2026 Final: IND defeat NZ by 96 runs, wins third title. It’s a really well-played match. Both teams have awesome players and a award winning teams. The match’s excitement is shown in their fans. This match is real, it’s not just a game, it is emotions of lots of people. Finally, we beat the opponent party.

India vs New Zealand T20 World Cup Final Updates: Jasprit Bumrah claimed four wickets while Axar Patel picked up three, helping India secure a 96-run victory over New Zealand and become the first team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup title. The team, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, also became the only side to win a World Cup on home soil. It’s a team work. It is players who are making their match an Oscar. Where the players are good, there, each and everything is achievable with ease. Where the team are good.

The match is heartened. The matches are made by players of the Indian cricket team. Earlier, Sanju Samson struck an impressive 89, while Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma registered half-centuries. Shivam Dube then delivered a quickfire cameo toward the end, powering India to 255/5 in Ahmedabad on Sunday, the highest total ever recorded in a T20 World Cup final. For New Zealand, Jimmy Neesham was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets.

The World Cup toffee is easy to get, but our Indian cricket team is the champion. Earlier, New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bowl first against Suryakumar Yadav’s India at Narendra Modi Stadium, a venue where, not too long ago, India had suffered a cruel heartbreak in the ODI World Cup final.

Axar Patel took 3 wickets of very important players and boomra coma and took two wickets in very precious time.  Abhishek bowls the last over, and it takes one wicket, and they are caught by Tilak Verma.

Overall, India wins the third T20 World Cup under the captainship of Suryakumar Yadav. Against the best teams, you will be exposed. Thanks to fans for following us. have to go to work without a trophy. Not our greatest effort, but we came up against a strong team. We will reflect as a group that the players should be proud. No doubt India will win an exclusive match. Yesterday, the man of the match was Jasprit Bumrah.

Been a long journey. Started post the 2024 World Cup. Jay Shah, Rohit bhai, they all showed faith in me and allowed me to lead. From there, it’s been a long journey, coming here and winning it. We have been playing good cricket in the last two years, and we just wanted to follow the good cricketing habits that we had in the 2024 World Cup. The boys took it really well. On keeping faith in players, I think it’s really important to understand what they are capable of.

He knew they had match-winners in the squad, and the moment couldn’t have come at a better time. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma are outstanding players, and we were confident they would deliver something special, and they did so in the final. Bumrah is a once-in-a-generation bowler; he would even call him a national treasure. He understands exactly what the situation demands and is simply the best in the business.

Of course, we faced a few challenges along the way, but we fought hard at every stage. Today, however, we were outplayed by a strong side in front of a fantastic crowd. The stadium was a sea of blue, and naturally, India had the home support behind them.

Hardik Pandey said after winning this match. He expresses his happiness with us. That’s my goal. [on winning at home and defending the title] It’s quite emotional. Because of winning the WC in India, the excitement of the people is amazing. The effort we have put in… From yesterday, he knew we are champions. The only self-belief he had was that there was no other result. Losing wasn’t a thought. He was thankful for God. When he was bowling the 19th over against England, he was thinking about the 2024 World Cup final. He told Kishan and Abhishek also that when you go out to bat, think of good memories. [On Samson and Kishan] This is what life teaches you. When you work hard, try to be happy in others’ happiness, God gives you opportunities. It’s a learning for the whole nation. That’s when you stay quiet and work hard. God gives you opportunities. Really proud of them.”

What Jasprit Boomra said, he feels extremely special because he’ve played one final in my home venue but couldn’t win that one, but today he won. He knew the wicket was a flat one, so he had to use all my experience. Before this tournament, he was in that zone where he felt he was trying too hard because he was bowling well, but he felt he was trying too hard. This tournament, he just tried to let the game come to me, and that worked really well. My individual assessment has always been my strength, and getting MOTM at my home ground in a World Cup final, it doesn’t get better than that. [On his slower balls] Because of the experience, because he’s played on belters over here, and he has seen the other teams too, he learned that trying to bowl too fast can make shot-making easier. So just played smart, and tried to think of what the batsmen were trying to do. [On the bowling group] Whenever we discuss, they always come up with options. And when communication is needed, we do that. We never panicked. Kept our heads above the water. Teams that do that win the tournament, he added: “I am very happy we did it.”

To be honest, they have prepared since last one and a half years. They have prepared to bat at any position for the team. They are up for it and in the right mindset to bat at any position. Actually, when the team needs it, the boys always stand up in the field. Today, he won’t say it was the best fielding, but we took some good catches, and at the end of the day, he was happy we won the final. The next couple of days will be a big party with the boys.

Looking at the tournament overall, India did not have the best start and needed that wake-up call against the South Africa national cricket team. However, once they regrouped, their performances improved steadily as the tournament progressed, and they began producing the strong batting displays they are known for. Sanju Samson, in particular, proved to be a crucial change that significantly boosted India’s batting fortunes. On the bowling front, the adjusted role of Jasprit Bumrah also worked effectively. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav has now joined the list of World Cup–winning captains for India.

That the pacer with perhaps the most lethal yorker in the game also possesses one of the most deceptive slower balls is widely recognised. However, in this T20 World Cup, the manner in which Jasprit Bumrah has used his slower deliveries and consistently earned rewards from them has been truly remarkable. Just as in the semifinal, Bumrah began the night with a slower ball that dismissed Rachin Ravindra.

In his third over, he delivered two successive slower deliveries that James Neesham and Matt Henry couldn’t even pick. It didn’t come out of the syllabus. No matter how much you prepare for it, every time Bumrah delivers a slower delivery, it poses all sorts of questions.

The Kiwis almost always make at least the semifinals of big events, but apart from one World Test Championship and an ICC knockout crown, have almost always finished as the bridesmaids. They have finished runner-up twice each in the 50-over World Cup, the T20 version and the Champions Trophy.

In the T20 World Cup history, India has reached the final four times and has now won three titles, with their first title coming in the 2007 T20 World Cup and second title in the 2024 T20 World Cup, followed by today’s T20 World Cup title. India’s only loss in the T20 World Cup final came in the 2014 T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, where they lost by six wickets against Sri Lanka. India also became the only team to have defended their T20 World Cup title. It’s also India’s biggest win in a T20 World Cup match. Nitin Sharma said. The match was really nice because of our awesome players.

The matches are not played by good innings and good past achievements. It is played by the great players, and it is a focused player. These matches are played in a natural way. The New Zealand national cricket team had won all three of their previous meetings with the India national cricket team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Their first victory came during the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa, when the side led by Daniel Vettori defeated the MS Dhoni-captained Indian team by 10 runs in a match played at Johannesburg. Vettori played a key role in the win by claiming four wickets. The second meeting between the two teams came in the Super 10 stage of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 at Nagpur.

Up until the semi-final, India’s fielding had been a lingering concern throughout the tournament. Catches had gone down at crucial moments, and the lapses in the field often threatened to undo the hard work done with bat and ball. The turnaround began in the semi-final, where Axar Patel set the tone with two stunning catches. And in the final, it was Ishan Kishan who produced a moment of brilliance to keep that momentum alive.

The ball loops awkwardly towards the deep backward square leg. It did pop loose briefly, but Kishan reacted instantly, clutching the rebound before it could touch the ground. Bumrah wheeled away in delight, racing towards Kishan to celebrate the breakthrough.

India needs two more wickets to win this game here. After a disappointing performance in 2023, they have made a strong statement here. This will be the first time a team has won the T20 World Cup twice in a row. After the loss to South Africa, there were a lot of questions that were raised about the side, but the change to bring Samson up the order has made a huge difference.

It’s hard to figure out what was going through in Arshdeep’s mind as he wound up and unleashed a throw towards the striker’s end when the Kiwi hadn’t even left his crease. Towards the striker, in fact, because Mitchell wasn’t exactly in front of the stumps. Arshdeep, too, in the heat of the moment, walked back to the top of his run-up with no apology on the horizon. It was Suryakumar Yadav who walked up to Mitchell and shook hands while the umpire gave Arshdeep a talking to. Fair play to Arshdeep, he shook hands with Mitchell at the end of that over. All’s well that ends well. Mitchell was gone soon after.

The contest had already taken on a celebratory feel even before the Powerplay ended in New Zealand’s innings. Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah unsurprisingly had effectively cut short the Kiwi challenge before they could even begin to dream of chasing down the massive target. India could even afford a few lapses in the field, including misfields and dropped catches. It almost seemed as though the Indians were toying with the opposition, highlighting the clear gap between the two sides.

They did outsmart themselves with ordinary tactics in the power play when they were bowling, and since then, it has been catch-up, and we are afraid that at this point, there is nothing much to catch up anymore. India just needs to bowl legal deliveries and complete the remaining quota of the overs, and they will be there. Bumrah still has a couple of overs left, and he is warming up. Both Santer and Neshama are trying their best to give some blows back, but the Indians have been superb with their plans.

With New Zealand losing their sixth wicket, the match began to resemble the recent bilateral games played ahead of the World Cup. New Zealand national cricket team had neither produced any notable tactical approach with the ball in the first innings nor managed to steady things in the chase, where their batting lineup started to crumble. Building partnerships is crucial for posting or chasing big totals, but New Zealand appeared to imitate the aggressive style of India national cricket team without the same level of execution, and the lack of skill showed. The decision to place Daryl Mitchell in his batting position also seemed like a questionable tactical move by the team management.
