JEE Main 2026 Registration to Begin Soon: NTA Activates Demo

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to begin registration for JEE Main 2026, which is the entrance exam for admission in premier engineering colleges in India. Candidates for the undergraduate courses B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B. Planning will soon be able to apply via the official application portal, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

In a recent development, the NTA has introduced a demo application link, demo.nta.nic.in, for students to get accustomed to the new interface for the online application form before the start of the actual registration process. As per the public notice dated September 29, 2025, the NTA expects to begin the JEE Main registration process in October 2025, but will publish the exact dates soon.

When the registration process begins, applicants will need to complete a few simple steps to fill out their application:

1. Visit the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

2. Click the “JEE Main 2026 Registration” link on the homepage.

3. Register by filling out some basic information and selecting a password.

4. Log in with your application number and password.

5. Fill out academic and personal details, upload all relevant documents, and pay the required fee.

6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for your records.

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 will take place in two stages — the first in January 2026 and the second in April 2026. Candidates may take the examination in either session or both, and the best score will be considered for their final ranking. Qualified candidates can gain admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other colleges or state-funded institutions that participate in the admissions process.

Before the registration begins, the NTA has suggested to candidates to ensure their Aadhaar details, Category Certificates, and UDID cards (for persons with disabilities) are correct and current to prevent inconsistencies during the verification process.
