Kukke Subrahmanyam, which is one of the prominent religious sites in Karnataka, has witnessed torrential rains, leading to landslides and flooding which have adversely affected daily activities in various parts of the area. The rains have caused water logging, flooding of the streams and damage to the local roads, thereby posing problems for the residents and travelers who come for the pilgrimage to the famed Kukke Subrahmanya Temple.

Due to the torrential rains, the possibilities of landslides in the hill and susceptible regions around the town have increased. Reports are that there is waterlogging of the roads due to mud and dirt, affecting the traffic movements. The floodwater has inundated the low-lying zones, making the local residents exercise caution with increasing water levels in the nearby rivers and streams.

The heavy rains have also caused problems in transport movement, with the concerned authorities keeping an eye on the roads for landslides and other such damages. It is imperative for the travelers and visitors coming to the temple town to be vigilant against rains.

The administration is closely observing the regions hit by landslides, and appropriate measures are being taken for clearing of rubble and resumption of normal movements. People living close to the water bodies and areas that are prone to landslides have been advised to adhere to safety advice and relocate to safer places.

Due to the rugged topography and close proximity of Kukke Subrahmanya to Western Ghats, this area becomes highly vulnerable during heavy monsoon activity. As there are chances of more rains in some parts of Karnataka, the emphasis will be on avoiding further damage.

People in the region should keep themselves updated about the latest developments from reliable sources until the rains subside.
