The much-awaited Mirzapur: The Movie is creating a lot of buzz amongst the audience before its theater release. With Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu Sharma playing lead roles in the movie, Mirzapur: The Movie is making its way from the successful web series to the big screen. Advance booking figures for the movie show a great start to the movie’s performance at the box office.

Advance booking for the movie started on August 31, and the response has been growing continuously since then. Figures show that on its first day itself, over 26,000 tickets have already been booked in major cinema halls of the country, and according to trade experts, the movie had the potential to collect about ₹20 crore and above opening in case the booking continued.

As per the reports of September 3, the total number of tickets collected by Mirzapur: The Movie reached one lakh in PVR INOX and Cinepolis by 9 pm and was expected to touch around 1.2-1.25 lakh finally.

Much of the buzz around this is because of the franchise already having a loyal fanbase. Pankaj Tripathi plays the character of Kaleen Bhaiya once again, while Ali Fazal portrays the character of Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu is back as Munna Tripathi in the movie. The presence of these beloved characters has definitely stirred up a lot of curiosity among the fans of the original franchise.

The movie Mirzapur is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment. The screenplay for this film is created by Puneet Krishna.

Thanks to the positive response to advance bookings, it can now be safely expected that this movie will have an opening collection of over ₹20 crores, and there are even those who think that it might get closer to ₹25 crores. However, the final opening will also depend on how many people turn up without any prior booking.

The theatrical run of this movie will be watched closely as it will be tested if the massive fandom of an OTT franchise can be translated to similar numbers in theaters.
