The Miss Universe 2025 finale closed spectacularly in Thailand on Friday, as Fatima Bosch of Mexico took home the prestigious crown. The instant the final results were announced, Bosch could hold back her emotions no more, bursting into joyful tears amidst thunderous applause in the arena. This again places Mexico in the spotlight on the international beauty pageant stage.
In the final rankings, Miss Thailand secured the position of first runner-up, while Miss Venezuela finished as second runner-up. Miss Philippines claimed the third runner-up spot, and Miss Côte d’Ivoire rounded off the Top 5 as the fourth runner-up. Each finalist impressed the judges with remarkable poise, elegance, and confidence during the high-pressure last round.
Right after her victory, Fatima Bosch posted an emotional message on social media, with expressions of gratitude, nostalgia, and disbelief following such a life-altering moment. She stated that her win was not only personal but also a commitment to so many women and girls who supported and believed in her path. Her emotive words went viral soon, inspiring people across the world.
For India, the competition this year ended in disappointment with Manika Vishwakarma failing to make it to the Top 12, thus extending India’s wait for another title since Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu’s win in 2021. India has lifted the Miss Universe crown three times—Sushmita Sen in 1994, Lara Dutta in 2000, and Harnaaz Sandhu in 2021. Adding to India’s presence at the event, badminton icon Saina Nehwal served on the international judging panel this year.
The grand finale was a showstopper where the top 5 participants fought fiercely for the coveted crown. Their respective performances showed grace, intelligence, and all the qualities of stage presence that made it one of the most exciting and cherished editions of the Miss Universe pageant.
