President of India Droupadi Murmu, along with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, celebrated the Dussehra festival in two different locations in New Delhi, as the capital of India celebrated the Vijayadashami festival in the form of rituals and the destruction of the effigy of Ravana.

The festival of Dussehra represents the triumph of good over evil, which is a very significant aspect for the people of India. The Indian President, Mrs Droupadi Murmu, participated in the Dussehra festival arranged by the Dwarka Shri Ram Leela Society at Dwarka, Delhi, accompanied by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms Rekha Gupta and Cabinet Minister Parvesh Verma. During the celebration, President Murmu performed aarti of Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Goddess Sita and destroyed the effigy of Ravana by firing an arrow. During the celebration, there were 90-foot-tall effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad.

During the speech of President Murmu, she welcomed the people and encouraged them to follow the teachings of Lord Ram. On the other hand, PM Narendra Modi took part in the celebrations of Vijayadashami at Indraprastha Ramleela Ground, IP Extension, East Delhi. During his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted the essence of national unity and called on people to cherish values related to truth, justice and public interest.

The Luv Kush Ramleela celebrations were organised by Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal at Ramlila Maidan near the Red Fort.

Traditional acts, religious rites and the burning of Ravana dolls formed a part of the celebration, thereby bringing people together for the event. Digital elements were also added to the event, which included digital ticketing and live streaming along with the conventional celebration.

This particular festival comes after Navratri, which denotes the victory of Lord Ram over the evil strength of Ravana. Dussehra indicates that truth, courage, and righteousness remain important forever.
