The upcoming film Ramayana: Part One featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash has already gained a lot of popularity and attention from international audiences even before its release in theatres. In fact, according to reports, it has already gathered huge box office collections through advance bookings in foreign countries, making the movie makers expect more than USD 20 million to be collected during the opening weekend.

Ramayana directed by Nitesh Tiwari is bringing the famous Indian epic to the silver screen in the form of an expensive cinematic production. Ranbir Kapoor will act the part of Lord Rama, while Yash will be playing the role of Ravana. In addition, Sita will be played by Sai Pallavi and Lakshman by Ravie Dubey, with Sunny Deol taking up the character of Lord Hanuman.

Based on the international box office numbers, it can be said that the film has earned around USD 2.85 million (₹27 crore) in foreign pre-bookings in its opening weekend as of October 29. Half of these numbers have been contributed by the screenings on the first day, including the paid screenings in North America. The US still is the biggest international market for the movie earning around USD 1.8 million, followed by Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Germany and other European markets have also shown promising pre-bookings.

It should be pointed out that the overseas performance is highly appreciated, as pre-bookings have not opened yet in the Middle East, which is an important international market for Bollywood movies. Based on the estimates of the trade industry, it is believed that this booking momentum may help in bringing more than USD 20 million in its opening weekend internationally, even going up to USD 25 million if more markets respond well.

However, the movie is slated to be released in theatres around the world on November 5, 2026, in several Indian languages. Given that there is now more global interest in the film, coupled with an attractive cast and the universal nature of the story of Ramayana, the movie should do well at the box office in various territories.
