Red Fort Security Breach: 7 Delhi Police Cops Suspended After Dummy Bomb Goes Undetected in Drill

In a shocking security breach at Red Fort, a dummy bomb went undetected during a Red Fort security drill conducted by the Delhi Police ahead of Independence Day celebrations. The incident has sparked major concerns about internal security at one of India’s most protected heritage sites.

Shockingly, the team conducting the drill successfully placed a dummy bomb inside the fort — and it went completely undetected.

Seven Delhi Police Personnel Suspended

The lapse has had swift consequences. Seven Delhi Police cops on duty that day were suspended. DCP Raja Banthia has now ordered a complete review of the Red Fort security drill procedures and said that additional safeguards will be implemented to prevent such incidents.

“Security at the Red Fort is one of our top priorities, especially with Independence Day approaching. This breach has shown us exactly where we need to tighten our protocols,” a senior police officer said.

Illegal Entry Attempt by Bangladeshi Nationals

Adding to the tension, police also apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals attempting to enter the Red Fort illegally on Monday.

“All of them are illegal immigrants between 20 and 25 years old. They tried to force their way in,” said a Delhi Police official. Fake Aadhaar cards and Bangladeshi documents were found on them. They have been sent to a detention centre, and questioning is underway.

Independence Day Security Intensified

This Red Fort security breach has exposed serious gaps in Delhi Police preparedness just days before the Independence Day celebrations. The dummy bomb undetected during the Red Fort security drill has prompted swift action, with seven security personnel suspended and a complete security review underway.
