In a significant development for India’s aviation and infrastructure sectors, Tata Projects Limited (TPL) and ASI Global have executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly conceptualize and build next-generation aircraft maintenance facilities across India. This collaboration combines TPL’s expertise in EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) with ASI Globe’s leadership in aircraft hangar engineering for projects globally.
A Strategic Alliance to Cater to India’s Growing Aviation Requirements.
As part of the MoU, the two firms will combine efforts to identify and deliver projects that address the growing need for aircraft maintenance hangars and associated infrastructure across India. This working relationship will be focused on commercial airlines, third-party MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul), business aviation, and defence establishments due to the rapidly growing demand for new, overstressed-arch facilities.
Through this agreement, TPL and ASI Global will be the only source of integrated solutions in India for:
- Aircraft hangars.
- MRO infrastructure.
- Stressed-arch structures.
- Sports and recreation centres.
- Bulk storage facilities.
This MoU is consistent with the Government of India’s directive to strengthen the aviation infrastructure in the country while the passenger traffic and number of aircraft grow.
Enhancing India’s MRO Capabilities
Vinayak Pai, MD and CEO of Tata Projects Ltd, acknowledged the significance of this partnership. It will provide world-class, operational MRO facilities that conform with both global standards and the requirements of clients. The combination of Tata Projects’ strengths in EPC and ASI Global’s specialized engineering expertise will benefit the client; the collaboration will deliver an efficient one-stop solution for clients.
According to Pai, it will also create new benchmarks in innovation, reliability, quality and on-time completion, thus further enhancing India’s aviation ecosystem.
ASI Global Provides Global Engineering Expertise
Mark Langbein, Managing Director of ASI Global, explained the partnership strengthens their ability to even a complete infrastructure solution for India’s growing aviation market. He cited that ASI Global’s deep experience in hangar design combined with the Tata Projects successful completion in complex infrastructure projects – and Tata Projects’ own steel fabrication capabilities – provides compelling value add for clients.
As Langbein explained, the partnership provides “ground-up support” that enhances optimised engineering, quicker execution, and high-quality structural solutions.
