The act of killing resulted in the death of an officer from the police force that is said to have been killed through an act of militancy in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir leading to the conducting of a very large scale search operation in the region. According to the reports received, the victim sustained injuries when he was shot at by some unknown assailants while on duty. He was immediately taken to the nearby hospital in a serious condition and there he died. The names of the attackers have not been known so far, and efforts are being made to know the reason for this attack.
After the act of militancy, the security forces which included the police, army, and CRPF of Jammu and Kashmir cordoned the area and started the search operation for the attackers.
Top-level police officers have condemned the attack, calling it an effort to disturb peace and stability in the region. They added that the offenders will surely be found out and punished for their wrongdoings. In addition, additional security arrangements have been made in vulnerable areas to ensure no other similar attacks take place.
This murder has been reacted to by the political and security officials, who paid respect to the murdered officer and condoled his bereaved family members. They said that they were committed to fighting terrorism and protecting civilians as well as security forces.
This act takes place while security forces are making efforts to curtail militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir by intelligence-based operations. It is the request of authorities that people should be vigilant and cooperate with security forces against any terrorist activity.
