The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has finally declared that the CLAT 2027 test would take place on Sunday, December 6, 2026, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The test would act as an entry point for aspirants who wish to pursue UG/PG law programs at participating National Law Universities all over the nation.
Along with the announcement regarding the exam schedule, it is confirmed that the online registration process would commence from August 3, 2026, and continue till October 31, 2026. The aspirants are requested to register themselves before the given date along with keeping a track of the official website for more information related to the same.
As a big relief for the candidates, it has been further confirmed that there would be no alterations in the CLAT 2027 test pattern and syllabus for both the UG and PG examinations. This would mean that candidates could carry on with their preparation without worrying about the changed pattern for the CLAT test in 2027. The decision has been taken in accordance with the recommendations made in the meeting of the Executive Committee and Governing Body of the Consortium held on July 18, 2026.
CLAT is one of the highly competitive law entrance exams conducted in India every year, with thousands of candidates applying for admission into National Law Universities in India. The CLAT exam evaluates the candidate’s knowledge in aspects like English language, general awareness, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques in the UG exam whereas the PG exam includes advanced legal topics.
Now that the exact exam dates have been declared by the Consortium, there are still around four months left for the law aspirants to prepare. As per experts’ advice, it is advisable for the aspirants to give their best shot by practicing well and taking mock tests. The Consortium will soon release more information regarding admit cards, counselling, and admissions.
