JEE Main 2025: BArch, BPlanning Exam Tougher Than Last Year, Say Students

New Delhi, January 30, 2025 – The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 for BArch and BPlanning was conducted today, with students and experts reporting a higher difficulty level compared to last year. The National Testing Agency (NTA) held the exam in two shifts, assessing candidates on subjects including Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing (for BArch) or Planning-based questions (for BPlanning).

Exam Difficulty Level: Tougher Than 2024

Many aspirants found this year’s exam more challenging than JEE Main 2024, particularly in the Mathematics section. According to initial student reactions, the paper featured complex numerical problems and required strong conceptual understanding.

Mathematics: Candidates found this section to be lengthy and calculation-intensive. Several questions were based on coordinate geometry, calculus, and probability, requiring in-depth problem-solving skills.

General Aptitude: This section was of moderate difficulty, with a mix of logical reasoning and visual perception-based questions. Some students felt that the pattern was slightly different from previous years, requiring adaptability.

Drawing (BArch): The drawing section tested creativity and visualization skills, with questions on perspective drawing and composition. Many students found it moderately difficult but time-consuming.

Planning (BPlanning): The Planning-based section focused on urban and regional planning concepts, with several application-based questions. While some found it manageable, others struggled with technical aspects.

Expert Opinions

Experts suggest that candidates who attempted 60–70% of the questions accurately stand a good chance of securing high scores. “This year’s exam required both speed and accuracy. Aspirants who had a strong grasp of fundamentals performed better,” said an expert from a leading coaching institute.

The official answer key is expected to be released soon on the NTA website, followed by result announcements in February. Candidates can raise objections to the provisional key before the final version is published.

For students aiming for top architecture and planning institutes, a strong JEE score combined with a well-prepared NATA (for BArch) application can enhance admission chances. Stay tuned for further updates on JEE Main 2025 results and counseling processes.
