In a significant announcement just prior to the NEET PG 2025 counselling process, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has hosted the examination results of 22 candidates, as a result of conducting unfair means or being entangled in litigation. This announcement was made official by the board through a notice stating, “The score of all 22 candidates is now invalidated for service or higher education purposes”.
According to the NBEMS, 21 candidates were found to have used unfair means during the NEET PG examination process, and the result of the 22nd candidate was cancelled due to an order from the Karnataka High Court. The NBEMS wished to remind everyone of the importance of transparency and fairness in medical entrance examinations and that any forms of malpractice or unethical behaviour would be dealt with severely, and result in strict disciplinary actions.
Cancellation Information
As noted in the notice, while the majority of affected candidates are from NEET PG 2025, there are some affected candidates from other NEET PG seats from years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 as well. In each of these cases, NBEMS clearly has told all candidates that either their applications or scorecards for those years are rendered null and void and will not be used again for employment eligibility, for admission into Post-graduate programs, or for any academic recognition.
This happened because the NBEMS Investigation Committee looked into several cases involving allegations of misconduct and/or irregularities during the exam and posit a myriad of alleged cases of irregularities. Based on the information in these cases, the committee determined that the exam was compromised, and this is why results were cancelled.
The board’s official statement read:
“The scorecards of the affected candidates from previous and current years have been rendered invalid. They cannot be used for employment or admission to any higher education courses.”
The notice also clarified that 13 candidates from the 2025 session remain barred from the ongoing admission process due to the findings of the ethics committee and the pending court matter.
NEET PG 2025 Counselling Update
In a related development, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) announced via a post on X (previously Twitter) that the date for NEET PG 2025 counselling is expected to occur in the mid of October 2025. After dialogue with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), it was indicated that this is likely to happen in the third week of October to facilitate the appointment of seats and college placements for thousands of aspiring postgraduate medical students.
Candidates should ensure they keep up with notifications and scheduling on the official NBEMS and MCC websites for confirmation. Until then, given the cancellation notice is now confirmed, only eligible candidates with a valid NEET PG 2025 result will be allowed to enter the counselling process that will occur.

Candidates can access the full list of revoked results and read the official statement on the NBEMS website under the section titled “NEET PG Result Cancellation.”
