Blaze Enhanced During Travel, Cause Being Investigated
As the highway fire brigade is investigating, the fire was likely caused by a short circuit at the back of the bus, according to early reports. A team of specialists has started an inspection of the area.
“The bus was fully engulfed in flames when we arrived at the scene,” said Krishnapal Singh Rathore, Assistant Fire Officer for the Municipal Council, stating that smoke and flames greatly hindered their rescue efforts.

Directions to properly care for and support the victims has been given.” District Collector Pratap Singh said that recovery efforts to pick up bodies of those on the bus were delayed for hours because of the intense heat and that a forensic team from Jodhpur was called to help recover the bodies and identify the victims.
