Bihar’s political scene erupted into action Friday morning with counting for the 2025 Assembly Elections resuming at 8 am. After just two hours, trends began developing a distinct picture—the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) pulled straight into the lead, crossing the critical 150-seat threshold and firmly establishing its presence in the race for power.
By 10 am, trends suggested the NDA was leading 161 seats to the Mahagathbandhan’s 77 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hadn’t run out of steam, recording a strong grassroots count too, leading 70 seats and a substantial enough margin over the critical 50 seats that it wouldn’t undermine the overall results.

While most exit polls forecasted a significant victory for NDA, Yadav has rejected the polls, expressing confidence that Mahagathbandhan would form the government with “thumping majorities”. As results start to form, projections appear to favor the ruling coalition.
The prominent faces of both alliances, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, JJD leader Tej Pratap and Bihar Congress Chief Rajesh Kumar, wait as counting continues from all 243 assembly seats.
Everyone is waiting for the total number to grow, and whether the early tally will justify the call for a decisive victory for NDA, perhaps meaning the return of…
