Smriti Mandhana–Palash Muchhal Wedding Postponed

Smriti Mandhana–Palash Muchhal Wedding Postponed After Cricketer’s Father Suffers Heart Attack

In a dramatic and emotional turn of events, the much-awaited wedding of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely. This decision came when Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack on the morning of the ceremony in Sangli, Maharashtra.

Family Emergency Calls Off Grand Wedding Plans

Preparations were in full swing at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli, when the medical emergency occurred unexpectedly. According to Smriti’s business manager, Tuhin Mishra, Mr Mandhana complained of uneasiness during the course of breakfast. Initially, the family hoped that it could be minor discomfort, but his condition rapidly deteriorated.

He was immediately admitted into a private hospital in Sangli by ambulance, where he is now under close medical observation. The news sent shockwaves through the family as Smriti, relatives, and friends rushed to the hospital.

Manager Confirms Postponement

Sharing the update, Smriti’s manager said, “Mr Srinivas Mandhana suddenly fell ill this morning. We waited, thinking he might recover, but his state started deteriorating. So we chose not to take any risk and rushed him to the hospital. He is now stable but under observation.”

The manager further added that Smriti is deeply attached to her father and immediately decided that the wedding would not go ahead until he fully recovers.

Decorations Being Taken Down, New Date Unknown

As the news spread, the wedding management team removed the decorations and brought all the activities for the event to a standstill. The November 23 wedding ceremony was thus suspended without announcing any revised date.

Both families have appealed to the media and fans to respect their privacy during this sensitive time when they are fully focusing on Mr Mandhana’s recovery.

Pre-wedding celebrations had already begun.

The couple had been giving glimpses of their vibrant pre-wedding celebrations, which went extremely viral over social media. Videos of the Haldi-Mehendi ceremonies, along with fun cricket matches between the bride’s and groom’s teams, had gone viral among their fans.

Other members of India’s Women’s World Cup-winning squad were also present in Sangli to join in the celebrations with the star opener.

But all those joyful celebrations came to an abrupt halt as the family navigates this unexpected health crisis.

Awaiting a New Dawn

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal had planned a warm and intimate affair with close family and selected guests. While fans were excited to witness the union of cricketing talent and musical brilliance, the couple now must wait until Smriti’s father recovers fully.

For now, all eyes are on the health of Srinivas Mandhana, whose stable condition has offered some relief but still requires careful monitoring.
