There was heavy rainfall in the region that has caused some disruptions in the normal way of life in Gurgaon as there was waterlogging in some major roads that have slowed down the traffic movement in some parts of the city.

Water logging has occurred in several major roads and low lying areas because of heavy rains in the region. This has caused a slowdown in the traffic movement and created inconvenience for office goers and other travelers. People have found that there were vehicles moving very slowly on waterlogged roads and there have been traffic jams in several major junctions.

Once again heavy rains have brought into focus the issues related to Gurgaon in case of heavy monsoons. Urbanization, constructions and inadequate drainage system in some areas could be among the reasons for waterlogging in the region during heavy rains in short period of time.

People have been advised to be cautious while traveling on waterlogged roads. It will be better if people avoid unnecessary travel on such roads.

With more rains anticipated during the day, the local administration and the commuters continue to be wary about any potential water logging and traffic problems. An added heavy shower can result in increased strain on the drainage system and affect movement through vulnerable areas of the city.

The current spells of rains have once again highlighted the importance of having an effective storm water drainage system, proper maintenance of the drains and being ready to handle heavy rains. For the city of Gurgaon, which continues to undergo fast-paced development, it is imperative that the city’s infrastructure improves to facilitate smooth movement.

For the citizens, the primary concern would now be about moving around safely and trying to avoid any routes that are water logged. In light of the potential showers, the commuters will continue to monitor weather and traffic situation before venturing out.
