In an astonishing show of nationalism, the Mega Tiranga Rally in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, was planned before the Independence Day holidays. Of particular significance during the event was a 1508 metre long national flag carried by school students. This was one of the most amazing events in the history of the Doda district. Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh led the rally, and there was unbelievable enthusiasm from the students from the government and private schools they came from. The rally progressed from the Entry Point–Welcome Doda Gate to its conclusion at the Community Hall and we could hear the students chanting slogans of unity through the streets and honoring the spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2025.
Students, district officials, social activists, NGOs, media and people from the local community participated in the rally waving flags and singing songs for independence. The rally was flagged off by DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal and DC Doda Harvinder Singh by the great crowd in expectation of further excitement planned in the district as the grand celebration of Independence Day.
Similar rallies were organised at Bhaderwah, Gandoh, and Thathri by the students of GHSS Bhaderwah, HSS Gandoh and GHSS Thathri, all participants taking pride in carrying the 1508 metres long National Flag. Streets were washed with Tricolour decorations; local artists performed a variety of cultural programs for the entertainment of the audience; students pledged to protect the unity and integrity of the nation.
