Noida Shines: Secures Spot in Swachh Survekshan Super League with a Clean Sweep

In a major milestone for urban sanitation and civic hygiene, Noida has officially entered the Super Swachh League (SSL) — a prestigious category under the national Swachh Survekshan rankings. This recognition marks a moment of pride for the city, which has consistently improved its cleanliness performance in recent years.

According to the latest report, Noida’s inclusion in the Super Swachh League is the result of sustained efforts in waste segregation, smart waste management, sanitation infrastructure, and public participation. This step reinforces the city’s status as a growing contender for the cleanest city in Uttar Pradesh and one of the top-performing urban centers in India.

What is the Super Swachh League?

The Super Swachh League (SSL) is an elite category within the Swachh Survekshan, India’s annual cleanliness survey conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Cities that demonstrate excellence in various cleanliness and sanitation parameters — including citizen feedback, innovation, infrastructure, and sustainability, are shortlisted for this high-performing league.

Key Highlights of Noida’s Cleanliness Drive:

  • 100% waste collection and segregation at source in most sectors
  • Deployment of GPS-tracked garbage collection vehicles
  • Widespread public awareness campaigns on cleanliness
  • Green waste-to-compost initiatives and ban on single-use plastic
  • Active citizen participation via the Swachhata app and feedback portals

Noida’s Rising Swachh Survekshan Performance

In previous years, Noida’s cleanliness ranking has steadily risen, and this new recognition is seen as a major validation of the city’s progressive policies. The efforts of the Noida Authority, in collaboration with RWAs and local organizations, have led to a visible change in the city’s sanitation landscape.

This achievement comes at a time when urban hygiene and sustainability are national priorities. With its SSL entry, Noida joins other leading cities such as Indore, Navi Mumbai, and Surat, all of which have consistently been at the forefront of India’s cleanliness revolution.

Becoming the Cleanest City in UP

Now a part of the Super Swachh League, Noida is well-positioned to aim for the title of the cleanest city in UP. Officials are focusing on further upgrading sanitation technologies, increasing green zones, and ensuring 24/7 cleanliness through smart monitoring tools.
