Focus Back to Human Talent
The recent rapid development of AI technology during the past few years has greatly
changed the world’s workforce environment and forced numerous firms to try their
hands at operating using artificial intelligence in order to lessen their reliance on
human staff. The biggest firms from different sectors turned to automation, machine
learning and generative AI in hopes of making their work more efficient, decreasing
expenses and optimizing their work processes. These companies made significant
investments in systems of AI technology capable of performing customer support
services, data analysis, content creation, recruiting screenings and various
administrative operations. However, as the companies became better at handling AI
technology, they realized that AI alone was not sufficient for completing some of the activities
which humans did better. Industry giants such as Ford and IBM are now reconsidering their
strategy based solely on AI in the recruitment of employees.Despite its capability in
automating mundane and information-related operations, the application of artificial
intelligence faces constraints when applied in creative, emotionally intelligent, strategic
decision-making, adaptable and communicative environments. Business has had to grapple
with issues of inaccuracies, responsibility, consumer experience, and ethics, among others,
indicating the need for human input. Furthermore, innovative thinking and organizational
growth are dependent on collaborative thinking and leadership skills which are unique to
human beings. Consequently, most organizations are embracing a holistic approach where
AI is employed to complement human effort rather than substituting employees. The
adoption of the approach has led to the training of employees to meet the demands of an
increasingly technologically oriented workplace. According to experts, the future of work
should not be characterized by a rivalry between humans and technology but should be
informed by a successful integration of both. Successful integration of AI capabilities and
human skills will lead to efficiency, innovations and sustainability within an organization. The
increasing reappraisal of the use of AI for all hires is a reminder that although there are
remarkable advances in technology, human skills are still important drivers of success in the
business world.
