India is taking major steps to strengthen its economy by focusing on education, skill development, and healthcare. These efforts aim to create jobs, improve infrastructure, and boost industries. In a recent post-budget webinar on employment generation, PM Narendra Modi outlined key government initiatives, including planned urbanisation, medical education expansion, skill training, and technology integration in education. These reforms are designed to shape a future-ready India and support long-term economic growth.
Planned Urbanisation for a Growing Population
By 2047, India’s urban population is expected to reach 90 crore. To support this, the government has launched the Urban Challenge Fund with an allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore. PM Modi urged the private sector and real estate industry to focus on planned urbanisation for sustainable development.
Healthcare Expansion for Better Medical Facilities
The government aims to add 75,000 medical seats over the next five years, starting with 10,000 seats this year. Telemedicine services in Primary Health Centers (PHCs) are expanding, along with day-care cancer centers and digital healthcare infrastructure to provide quality healthcare in remote areas.

Skill Development for Employment Generation
Since 2014, over 3 crore youth have received skill training. The government plans to upgrade 1,000 ITI institutes and create 5 Centers of Excellence. The PM Internship Scheme will offer practical training to young professionals, helping businesses find skilled workers.
Education & Technology Integration
India’s education system is evolving with major reforms like the National Education Policy (NEP). The government is expanding IITs, using AI in education, digitizing textbooks, and making study materials available in 22 Indian languages. These efforts aim to make education more accessible and technology-driven.
