The process of admitting students into undergraduate (UG) courses at Delhi University (DU) for the 2026-27 academic year is complete as DU has allotted 93,000+ seats under the first round of admissions to all affiliated colleges. This is a huge accomplishment on the part of DU as it forms one of the biggest university admission processes in India where thousands of students get selected across different courses through CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System).
The first round of admissions saw active participation of students from all over India as an increasing number of candidates are opting for DU for quality education. Some of the highly sought after courses include Economics, Commerce, Computer Science, Political Science, Psychology, and English. Leading colleges had stiff competition among candidates due to limited seats.
Candidates who have got admitted in any of the courses need to accept their allotted seats as per the deadlines. Once the colleges verify the documents of admitted students, then confirmation is done. Candidates who are dissatisfied with their allotted courses can apply in other admission rounds depending on the availability of seats.
It is important to note that admissions are done through CUET scores, making the process standardized and transparent when it comes to allocation of slots. The CSAS portal allows the student to enroll program and college preferences which will go ahead to simplify admissions.
According to experts on education, the centralized admission system has made the entire process easy and efficient since it allows students to compete for the slot in equal measure irrespective of their geographical location. Through digital verification and counseling, the process of admissions has been made much easier without any hassle associated with filling forms and submission of physical documents.
Having concluded the first round of allocations, Delhi University is set to conduct other rounds of admissions for filling empty seats as well as upgrade preference. The university, which is set to host another batch of students, has been known as one of the best universities in the country in terms of providing quality learning.
